PPSFL is searching for a detailed-oriented, highly motivated professional to fill the role of the HR Coordinator. This will be a 35 hour a week position reporting directly to the CFO. Key responsibilities of this position include:

•Responsible for the agency’s payroll system which includes: collection and review of the employees’ time sheets; inputting all the employees’ time into the computerized payroll system; preparing payroll information and related mailings; distributing paychecks to employees.

•Works with the CEO and senior managers to assure that PPSFL develops and maintains excellent human resources systems, including systems for recruiting, hiring and compensating staff, for staff development, for supervising staff and their performance and for maintaining a strong and effective staff organization

•Serve as internal consultant to supervisors and managers on HR issues and practices and assists them in maintaining an organizational culture that promotes high levels of communication and performance.

•Manages HR correspondence with staff including, but not limited to, letters of hire, termination, salary and status changes, changes in rules and regulations pertaining to benefits, employee cost changes, and annual benefits enrollment. Oversees and ensures completion of paperwork for staff beginning and ending employment.

•Assists CEO and supervisors on all human resource policies and practices and maintains all policies in up-to-date, easy-to-find-and-use formats. Helps CEO to facilitate and coordinate all agency decision-making about compensation and personnel practices. Performs research and analysis of compensation options and conducts salary surveys. Evaluates Job Descriptions and factor ratings of positions in coordination with the CEO.
•Provides extensive clerical support to the CEO and department heads when they are recruiting candidates and filling positions. Helps the hiring party to carry out the recruitment in conformance with agency policies on Diversity and Equal Opportunity and is responsible for organizing new staff orientations.

•Maintains up-to-date personnel records and forms which conform to Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) and Office of Health Systems Management (OHSM) standards and other federal and state laws and regulations.

•Improve and coordinate staff development programs, including new staff orientation and management development.
This position will be based in the Horseheads office, with routine travel to other locations to be expected (with appropriate travel expenses reimbursed).

The ideal candidate for this position will be reliable, able to multi-task, capable of independent thinking and able to communicate effectively with staff, the leadership team, and other key agencies through both email and in person. This candidate must demonstrate strong skills in all Microsoft Office products. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required; however, 3 -5 years of human resource experience is a required.
